Biography

Kiva S. Joseph is a Lecturer and Coordinator for Outreach and Community Engagement, at the School of Journalism, Media & Communication at Uganda Christian University. Currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Cultural and Media Studies at the Centre for Communication, Media, and Society (CCMS), University of KwaZulu-Natal. He holds a MA in Journalism and Media Studies, and a BA in Mass Communication all from Uganda Christian University, a partial Master’s in Global Journalism from NLA University College, Kristiansand, Norway.

He teaches Journalism and Communication-related course units at the Undergraduate. He believes in the importance of being well-rounded and taking on new challenges. His research interests are in Social and Behaviour Change Communication, Radio and Development, and Health Communication. He has a passion for research and he has co-published three peer-reviewed journal articles.

He has presented papers at international conferences including the Global Journalism Symposium that was held in Norway in 2015. He has had his abstracts accepted at international conferences for example IAMCR. He has supervised undergraduate students both for internship and research.
