Dr. Samuel Kazibwe (Ph.D) is an award winning Ugandan broadcast journalist, academic and researcher. Kazibwe holds a Ph.D in Cultural and Media Studies from the University of KwaZuluNatal (South Africa). He is also a holder of masters’ degree in Human Rights from Makerere University, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Uganda Christian University.
As a journalist in the last 15 years, Kazibwe has worked as a reporter, news anchor, talk-show producer, talk-show host and news editor for several media outlets. In fact, in the year 2019, my radio show which covers international affairs was voted the best radio documentary in Uganda in a competition organized by the Media Challenge Initiative, a local media academy mentoring budding journalists. He also makes regular presentations on global and African affairs at different fora.
Dr. Kazibwe is currently a Senior Lecturer at Uganda Christian University in the School of Journalism, Media and Communication. His research interests fall under mass communication theory, international relations, media law, development communication, international relations, governance and human rights.
