The School of Journalism, Media and Communication started in December 2021 growing from the Faculty of Journalism, Media and Communication which started in 2018, out of the Mass Communication Department. We host the Department Postgraduate Programmes and Research, headed by Dr. Annette Kezaabu Kasimbaazi, and the Undergraduate Programmes Department headed by Mr. John Semakula.
The School currently offers three programmes; a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, a Master of Arts Strategic Communication and a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies. We also offer assorted short courses for mid-career training and are currently developing a curriculum for a Coursework and Research PhD in Journalism, Media and Communication.
We have two Full Professors, three Senior Lecturers and three Lecturers on the full time staff with several others on staff development. We also have several renowned and experience media and communication practitioners who serve as adjunct faculty.
